Split Mountain is spectacular!    I started hiking in the Owen's Valley at 5,450' and climbed to the summit at 14,058'. I took the "easy" route up Taboose Creek and into Upper Basin and established a base camp there. Unfortunately the air was heavy with haze because of the summer monsoons. In this group there are also some pictures I took in the Owen's Valley while acclimating to the altitude (I live at only 833').
