South Summit

Split Mountain gets it's name from a big rift between it's north and south summits. As you can see from the higher north summit, it is quite a gash. You'd have a difficult time trying to hike over there. Just behind and to the left of the south summit, and at much lower elevation, you can see Cardinal Mountain. Cardinal has a dark-red summit with pink striations on top of a pinkish-red mountain with dark-red striations.
