In front of Arrow Peak is a tree-covered bench with a lake called Bench Lake. Real creative name, eh? Apt, though. The U-shaped canyon of the South Fork of the Kings River was probably cut by a glacier. River canyons are usually more V-shaped, and in this area there are lots of polished rocks showing glacial action. In the background, rain is approaching.
