On top of a large rock needle called Magician Needle in Sequoia Forest is a USDA/USDF fire lookout where someone lives in the summer. This is part of the stairway leading up to there from the local 'helipad'. The view is tremendous, as you would expect from a lookout. But imagine walking out your front door and these are the steps ya gotta take. Worse yet, imagine being up there for an earthquake. Ya better not fall off!
