This lonely, windblown tree stands next to the Pacific Ocean, near Santa Barbara. You can see a couple of the Channel Islands off in the distance. I've been here when the wind (and rain) was coming in off the ocean at one hundred miles an hour. Trucks were being blown off the US-101 highway, and the inland mountain passes were closed due to heavy snow. On this peaceful day, I used a special filter which highlights the colors of the sunset (No, I won't tell you what kind of filter, but I will say that all those colors were already there. They are not added in).
