Gem Lakes

There are a bunch of lakes here in the upper portion of Little Lakes Valley known collectively as Gem Lakes. Behind this one we can see Mt Dade (the pointy peak) and Mt Abbot (round peak). They are part of the Sierra Crest, which is the main mountain ridge separating the Great Basin from the Pacific Ocean. This side is the basin, none of this water will be able to get to the ocean.
