This is the first picture in my series that were all taken in the John Muir Wilderness Area, which is in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Temple Crags is found in the Big Pine Creek drainage. The lake is Fourth Lake. This image was taken in the fall, after the meadow had turned brown. Some of the winter's first snowfall can still be seen clinging to the mountain, as well as a few small patches of last year's snow.
