The Purple Mariposa Lily is normally a white or very pale purple color, and then it is known as the Plain Mariposa Lily or Shy Mariposa Lily. These grow in southern California at some elevation - I found this one at over 8000 feet in the coast ranges. Calochortus invenustus (Lily family)
