I'm on the John Muir Trail just north of Forester pass, at about 12,600' altitude, looking at Mt Bradley, which is 13,289' elevation. Here the trail follows along the top of a skinny ridge, which looks dark in one of my Junction Peak pix. Along this area, the John Muir Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail are the same trail, because installing trails through this kind of wilderness is pretty difficult.
