AuSable River Queen

This is a true paddle boat. Give the folks a little bit of money and off you go on a tour around Foote Pond, and up into the AuSable River. What fun! An adept driver can turn this thing end for end on the river in place, without moving anywhere. The shallow draft is required because the river is lined with thick forest, which provides a constant supply of submerged logs. At one time this was probably the most famous river in Michigan, but the big fire in 1911 took care of that.
