Here's a friendly critter. I met him in the high desert area called Devil's Playground. It was a cool spring day, only in the seventies, so he was just out sunning himself. Rattlesnakes are very sluggish when the temperature is cool like that. Lucky for me!! You see, I was using a close-up lens which focuses at only eighteen inches away, no farther. And this guy being nearly five feet long,,, well; you get the picture....
