Lupine
Here's a nice patch of flowers. Neat leaves, too. Lupine are in the Pea family. They all have the same structured flowers and leaves. We have so many varieties of Lupine around here that I usually don't bother trying to tell one species from the next. Some grow six feet high, and some alpine versions only grow one inch high. It is a very common plant.
