Gunsight Clarkia
Clarkia's are also known as Fairwell-To-Spring because they only bloom at the end of the season. Also, they can bloom in profusion and their pink color is distinctive so people notice them. When the Clarkias bloom summer is beginning, and the wildflower season starts getting sparse. This species is the unusual and pretty Gunsight Clarkia. There are several other Clarkia species also blooming at the same time in central California, and they are all pink. Clarkia xantiana (Evening Primrose family)
