This natural rock arch is in the Alabama Hills. The mountains are the Sierra Nevada, with the prominent peaks being Mt Langley (California's southernmost 14,000 foot peak), Lone Pine Peak and Mt Whitney. Even though you still see snow up in the mountains, the temperature at the arch can easily be over 100F degrees.
