Bear Creek Spire

Bear Creek Spire (13,720') is the magnificent peak at the head of Little Lakes Valley. There is no easy way to reach its summit, all the routes are difficult. This a view of the other side of it, which most people never see because it requires some backpacking. The foreground is the mostly-frozen Lake Italy (11,202'), which actually does resemble Italy on a map. That's a half-mile of elevation gain in a short distance.
