Finger Lake

I took this picture of Finger Lake in September, just as snowflakes began to fall. By the next morning there was five inches of new snow down the hill on my tent, and it looked like twice that much up here. Finger Lake gets that nice color from having glacial silt in the water. There are a couple decent-sized glaciers (for California) up near that mountain in the background. The main mountain there is Middle Palisade (a fourteener), and just poking up on the right is Norman Clyde Peak.
