Kings-Kern Divide

The Kings-Kern Divide is only six miles long, but it is a very high and rugged mountain range connecting the Great Western Divide and Sierra Crest ranges. It has always presented a formidable barrier. The only trail over it was constructed relatively recently. Being 13,180' elevation, Forester Pass is the highest point on the Pacific Crest Trail. Indeed, the PCT used to by-pass the Kings-Kern Divide.
